A Reason to Give

I think ‘CRUT’ is certainly an inelegant term!” writes Lynne Atherton, a member of the Newton N. Minow Founders Society since 2002, “— but it stands for Charitable Remainder Unitrust, which was an elegant solution for my dilemma:  I wanted an estate plan that would give me some income now and would promise money to favorite charities in the future — definitely including WTTW11 and WFMT.”

She continues, “Can you imagine being without WTTW and WFMT?! It makes me shudder!”

Lynne decided to benefit organizations for which she is grateful, feeling strongly that they need to be a part of the future. She was an art history major and respects the artistic integrity of both stations. Lynne said, “I am inspired and amused, and I truly enjoy the intelligence of your programming.” She loves WFMT’s music. Some of her WTTW favorites are Masterpiece, Antiques Roadshow, Geoffrey Baer’s programs, and Chicago Tonight.

As we plan our future programming, Lynne encourages you to consider Window to the World in your estate plans. “Maybe a CRUT will be part of your elegant plan, too!” she says. You can learn all your options for making a bequest and becoming a member of the Newton N. Minow Founders Society through our websites at www.wttw.com or www.wfmt.com or by calling Kathy Kielar at 773-509-5553 for a personal conference.
